Our
mission is to provide support to each other by:

Offering
the advice from the lessons learned of our own writing
and publishing experiences

Asking
for and giving constructive criticism on writing projects

Supporting
and encouraging women seeking active
participation in writer's conferences and professional
education
-
Sharing
education about style, submissions, queries, literary
agencies, organization, and all topics directly relating
to the writing and publishing profession
-
Bringing
out the best in each work presented
Formal
meetings are held on the Second and Fourth SATURDAY
of each month unless otherwise noted.
Our
group has strong ties to the International
Women's Writing Guild and
The National Association of Women's Writers. Some
members of Vegas Quills are also active participants and
members of the American
Society of Childrens' Book Writers and Illustrators,
while others write for a more adult based audience, such
as the members of The
Romance Writers of America.
We
are not a censorship organization. We also have an online
writing board, which is open to women in the Southwest,
and by special invitation to those in other areas of the
United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, and Australia.
